The server uses both SoU and HotU as well as CEP. No other haks are needed.
Module is fairly low magic. Except for an artifact or two, nothing is over +6, and that is extremely rare. Boots of speed and major resistance items are also extremely hard to find. Low level magic items are not uncommon however and can even be bought.
All HotU classes are available with no restrictions. All feats are available with no restrictions.
The goal of the server is to mimic the PnP experience in difficulty, and is therefore challenging. Levels are somewhat difficult to gain. Expect a level every two or three hours of game time. Partying should cut that down. All players start at second level.
Given the lack of magic items duplicating class abilities, classes mean a lot here, and I've tried to balance all classes. Fighters may have it easier the first few levels if soloing, but rogues, wizards and the like make up for it later.
Healing kits are the equivalent of PnP healing kits i.e. their power is greatly reduced. Clerics therefore may have to sacrifice spells for healing.
There are about a dozen quests, though they are not handed to you.
You start in a town where supplies can easily be bought.
There is an overall plot to the server, though only a few have completed it. Those that do will be rewarded.
A few spell changes have occured to better mimic PnP.
PvP is allowed in almost all areas. The exceptions are towns and respawn points. There are multiple respawn points, though any other than the original must be located.
