Mirrors Online May Project Update
The Mirrors Online team has been extremely busy with our ongoing lore and module design. Most of the design of the module includes full write-ups on the people, places, quests, etc. Our writers are currently at work on the points of interest around Baylith, along with a growing list of other things that need attention. This may seem like a lot of unnecessary work, but in our experiences, not doing this groundwork means headaches later on, when inconsistencies start cropping up because the builders and DMs are all working based on different assumptions. We’re hoping to avoid a lot of these sorts of problems and also produce a better module by putting in the design work early.
Lore Updates
You can now find information about the Fracturing, Harth, and Half-Orcs on the Mirrors website. When we were putting these new entries up, it reminded us how far we have come since those initial lore entries. They’re all still valid, but still need fleshing out, so we’ll be working on that. Eventually we hope to find an artist (or several) to break up the increasing amount of text on those pages. So, if there are any artists among you interested enough in the project to help out, or even just wanting their work promoted, drop us a message.
Mirrors Stories and Essays
In other news, we’ve opened a Stories and Essays section on the Mirrors website. The first story is written by Dante-x, and called “By the Silver Stream and Dying Flame”. Check it out, and remember to tell Dante what you think of it in our new forum, “The Winding Road”, where you can read and comment on fiction, post your own for the community, and organize or join Play by Forum games.
New Features
Last week was our first “Deity Thursday”, featuring Rihn – Deity of Animals, Deity of Gardens, Deity of Wild Men. Check it out, and then tell us what you think in this thread! scribe has also kicked off a more general discussion about religion in Mirrors to coincide with this.
Do you like what you see? Are you looking for a an opportunity to join a vibrant NWN2 PW project as a writer, designer, or artist? If so drop us a line. We are always on the lookout for mature, talented, team oriented community members to contribute to our project. Creators interested in joining our team should visit our forums to learn about our Open Positions and how to submit your application.
